Umbria in Spring. A sudden explosion of Nature. No slow creeping up of the warm sun rays... Oh no, rather a blast of hot honeycomb light! Not a soft transformation of the pale winter hues but a blinding spray of reds and yellows beaming out of a hard grey ground. Nature breaking through the bleakness of the winter. A breakthrough we should all go through: slicing through the dullness of our lives and illuminating the shadows of our past with our wonderful light. Spring is such a moment of “starting again”, not taking what's there and making it into something new, but taking what isn't, and having it be. Creation and birth – not change. And here in the almost balmy warmth of this shy sunshine, what better moment to take our empty sheet and reinvent our lives? Isn't that just a great opportunity? What do we want? What is essentially important to us? Are we going in that direction? Are we? Is what life is really about to us what we are making it to be? If you are finding this confusing, pick a little daisy … our fields are dotted with them now – and study its simple perfection, twirl it between your fingers and empty your mind from your thoughts and thought processes. It is time to conceive Nothing as freedom, without all our preconceptions and “will bes”, without all the billions of meanings we place on every little event in our lives. Nothing as “All is possible”. It's our chance to draw our every wish and make it come true. Today is truly the first day of the rest of our lives! And really we need to give up the notion that “some-thing’s wrong here”, limiting our possibilities, our chances, our relationships to this idea. Look at the sky, there really is nothing wrong. Yes, things can go wrong, depends really what you consider wrong – maybe it's just life manifesting its self to give you a breakthrough! Like the little daisies in our field.
